Stardew Valley – Game Review Need a Break?
Everyone needs a break sometimes, and that’s a-okay! But, quitting your day job and moving across the country to live at your late grandfather’s old farm? That’s … not as… okay. But, that is exactly what happens in the hit game Stardew Valley. The main character quits his/her job at a multimillion corporation and moves to Stardew Valley, a small town chock full of bright and chirpy (non-playable) villagers. The game consists of talking and building relationships with the villagers, farming, mining, fishing, and more! if any of this interests you, you’ve got to check this out.
Stardew Valley was released on February 26th, 2016 by Eric “ConcernedApe” Baron. It’s known as one of the best farming simulators even now, 5 years since the release. The world is 2D and free roaming. Players can walk around the beach, to Cindersap Forest, Pelican Town, and into the villagers’ houses! Although there are limited responses, players can also talk with the villagers! You can build relationships with them by giving them gifts, chatting with them, and completing quests for them. If you gain enough friendship hearts, you can even date, marry, and have children with them!
Though, after playing for a while, you’ll notice that, it actually has a lot of lore hidden inside of it! There are mystical beings, people coming back from the dead, secret doorways, and messages. Not to mention the not-so-discreet relationships between the villagers! If any of this interests you, you’ve got to check out Stardew Valley!
