The girls Lompoc High School Varsity volleyball team had a bit of a rough start with the season having a couple losses. But, after those losses in the very beginning, the team had come together and slowly started winning some games more and more throughout the season. The captains on the girls varsity team were, Junior, Natalie Aguilar, Junior, Grace Day, & Senior, Madison McCarley. Those three captains were the foundation of the team & were always encouraging to everyone on the team. The team couldn’t have done it without them & their leadership. Nevertheless, the captains & the team couldn’t have done it without their supportive coach, Jackie. She was described as encouraging, funny, kind, caring & hardworking. The girls said that they couldn’t have done it without all her help, as well as all the time & effort she put into the team. However, by her side was the varsity team manager Diego S. He was also a huge help to Coach Jackie, always looking out for the girls & always continuing to encourage the girls in tough situations in games. The girls had said that the toughest team they played in the season was Templeton. They also said that they were the most fun team to play because it was a great competition between the two teams. There was never a dull moment in their games when they had played against each other. Overall the girls varsity volleyball season was a great success! They might have started out with a couple challenges in the start but along the way they overcame those challenges & continued to work hard!
