Do you like Fall activities? There are many activities but the most popular involve pumpkins. Pumpkin carving is a favorite, but have you ever heard of pumpkin painting? These two activities are similar but also have their differences. Which is your favorite?
Pumpkin carving is more advanced, you have to put more work into it. What you will need is a nice pumpkin, the bigger the better, a food knife, spoon, a template, and a container The first step is to prepare the pumpkin by washing it and wiping it down to remove any dust. Next step is to transfer your template onto your pumpkin. Then you will use a sharp object and go over the design. After that grab a pen and sketch out the design on the pumpkin. Once you like how the design looks, it’s time to carve. You will then draw a circular lid around the pumpkin stem. Grab a small knife with a serrated blade and start cutting into the pumpkin following the line of the lid. It’s time to remove the pumpkin seeds. You can always save these seeds for baking activities. Now that your pumpkin is seedless, go ahead and give it a rinse, then pat it dry. Finally it’s time to start carving. Follow the pin lines and cut into your pumpkin. Make straight cuts all the way through and put the pieces aside. As you are almost done carving, fix any imperfections. After you finish carving and you like how it looks, you can add a candle inside and you’re done!
Painting a pumpkin is a simple, but fun activity. Here are the steps to successfully paint a pumpkin. You are first going to pick out a pumpkin, the smoother the better.
