On January 22nd, the Lompoc Braves JV soccer team faced off the Mission Prep Royals. In the first half, after an intense battle against the Royals, Naylah received a perfect cross from her teammate and she successfully struck the ball scoring the first goal of the game. A couple minutes after the Royals scored a goal, making the score 1-1. After half time Mia scored, giving the Lompoc Braves a leading score of 2-1. With a few minutes left of the game, the Royals evened the score to 2-2, causing the game to end in a tie. The first time the JV soccer team faced off against the Royals, the score was a 3-0 loss making this game a success because they worked hard to make it a tie and improved on their last score.
Three days later, the girls faced off against the Santa Ynez Pirates. The first half of the game was a tough battle between the Braves and Pirates, the score stayed 0-0 almost the whole first half but towards the last few minutes of the game, Itzel scored a goal in the bottom half of the goal changing the score to 1-0. In the second half neither Santa Ynez or Lompoc scored but they had several shots on goal but didn’t complete. The Lompoc Braves JV girls brought home another win, ending the week with 2 wins.
